If you've watched Sex in the City you might remember when Carrie Bradshaw read to her partner, Big, from a book apparently entitled Love Letters of Great Men. While the quotes that Carrie read out were real, unfortunately the book itself does not exist.
However, determined fans discovered that the closest thing to this collection of romantic texts lies within a book first released in the 1920's, titled Love Letters of Great Men and Women: From the Eighteenth Century to Present Day.

This collection of timeless love letters includes the ones that Carrie read aloud and many, many more. Including the words of Beethoven, Mozart, Churchill, Hawthorne, Keats, Voltaire, Van Gogh, and others. While Carrie was clearly the writer in their relationship, Big chose to express his love by copying some of the letters from the book and sending them to Carrie. It's the thought that counts!
This book is perfect for anyone looking for a little inspiration when writing their own love letters or as a gift for someone special.
